пол. дипломатический ранг (особые звания, присваиваемые дипломатическим работникам; cистема и порядок присвоения дипломатических рангов регулируются законодательством каждого государства; в 1815 г. Венский конгресс установил единую международную систему дипломатических рангов; система включала следующие дипломатические ранги: посол (ambassador), посланник (envoy), министр-резидент (minister resident), поверенный в делах (chargé d'affaires); в настоящее время дипломатические ранги во многом потеряли свое значение (напр., поверенный в делах может обладать теми же привилегиями, что и посланник))
